Krista Reinhardt-Ruprecht, MA, practices strength-based psychotherapy, melding together contemplative approaches, Synergetic Play Therapy™ and Art Therapy modalities and assessments. Through Naropa University Krista was introduced to mindfulness based therapy, in which attention is continually brought back to the present moment. She uses this with child and adult clients, through counseling, play therapy and art therapy. She has practiced play therapy and art therapy since 2013 at the Play Therapy Institute in Boulder, Colorado, where she is currently continuing her advanced training and volunteers between 5 and 10 hours per week, working with predominantly low income families. Krista also brings a passion for neurobiology to her work; and is always reading about and studying new information about the brain. Her practicum was spent at Blue Sky Bridge, a child advocacy center in Boulder, Colorado, where she was introduced to forensic interviewing, using art as a way to regulate before and after the interviewing, and cofacilitating art therapy groups at an elementary school for children who witnessed domestic violence.
